VirusDetectiveΓäó can be configured to keep a written log of all the files it scans.
It can either write an entry for every file it scans or just those files that match the search criteria. The settings under ΓÇ£Log file optionsΓÇ¥ control this.
There can be a log file for each disk or one log file for all disks scanned. The settings under ΓÇ£Create log fileΓÇ¥ control this. If ΓÇ£single fileΓÇ¥ is chosen this file is closed when you close VirusDetectiveΓäó.
The log file is a plain TEXT file that may be opened by any word processor. You can select which WP under ΓÇ£Log/Save files created as.ΓÇ¥ Selecting the proper WP allows you to double-click the log file. This is also the same WP used when saving search strings (see ΓÇ£ModificationsΓÇ¥ dialog).
If your WP is not directly listed as a file type you can still enter its 4 character Creator ID.
You can add the information available under the main ΓÇ£InfoΓÇ¥ command to the log file by checking ΓÇ£Include file/resource info in log file.ΓÇ¥ Only matched files have their info written.
Normally when VirusDetectiveΓäó finds something during a scan AND it is the frontmost window it will pause for user input. If ΓÇ£Unattended operationΓÇ¥ is checked it will not pause.
NOTE: When running in ΓÇ£unattended modeΓÇ¥ what search strings matched will be lost unless you keep a written log.
